Adasamma’s music is composed primarily of Ghanaian highlife with elements of jazz, afrobeats and R&B for the enjoyment of those who appreciate real music. We want to elevate highlife rhythms and melodies by creating a new genre called “highlife fusion”.

Keyboardist

Duah Richard Sarpong is an Accra based keyboardist and Educator from the southern part of Ghana(Ashanti Region). Born in Suame – Kumasi(Ashanti Region) on 24th Febuary 1994. He was influenced by Abraham Kokuro( one of Ghana’s finest pianist currently).

He started singing in church choir at the age of 12 and later transitioned to play the keyboards at age 15. His interest in music as a keyboardist grew gradually and became a passion and a career for him. As a professional keyboardist, he has performed and shared stage with alot of great artists locally. He is also the band leader for Accra Unplugged, a renowed music agency whose interest is to provide opportunity and platform for new and upcoming artists in Ghana every week. He and his twin brother(Bassist) who happens to be in this great team met Bright Osei(Guitarist) in High School through a friend which after High School as friends we decided to form a band. Richard is actually one of the founders of Adasamma.

Bright Osei Baffour, popularly known as linguist is the band’s guitarist, composer and arranger. Linguist hails from Kumasi but now lives in Accra- Ghana. He was born on the 5th of November 1994. He is from a strong music background with a guitarist father well known by musicians in Kumasi (Eric Osei Baffour) and a church singer for a mother. He had his Education till University, which he dropped out after a month. As the eldest child of his father, his dad took him to most of his gigs. He started playing drums at a young age and then switched to keyboard and guitar at age 15. He focused on the guitar more after he being introduced to Emmanuel Sergio by his teacher and mentor. In High School, Bright met Richmond and Richard (twins) through a drummer and they became close friends. After some years, their close friendship landed to the formation of ADASAMMA. After relocating to Accra, He learned from top musicians like Victor Dey, Bright Osei, Kwame Yeboah, Francis Osei ,Carl Amoah. He has performed with many Artists locally like Kojo Antwi, Rex omar,  Kwabena Kwabena, Shasha Marley, Yaw Sarpong, Stonebwoy, Aka Blay and international Artists like Bitz Ambassador, Tom Braxton.

Bass Guitarist

Duah Richmond Sarpong is an Accra based bass guitarist born in Suame – Kumasi on 24th Febuary 1994. He graduated with a degree in Music Education. He started singing in church choir and later transitioned to play the bass guitar at age 15. As a professional bassist, he has performed and shared stage with many great artists like Jedu Blay Ambulley, Shasha Marley and  Bessa Simons. He is also the bass guitarist for Accra Unplugged, a renowed music agency whose interest is to provide opportunity and platform for new and upcoming artists in Ghana every week. He and his twin brother (Richard Sarpong Duah) met Bright Osei in High School, where they decided to form a band.

Hakeem Jean born on the 30th September 1989 to Fante natives is a Ghanaian singer and songwriter born in Kumasi. He many renowned musicians who helped him nurture his craft as a singer very well. Hakeem begun his music career in church at a very early stage where he learnt how to play and understand the basic and fundamental rudiments of playing the guitar and after school (KNUST), he moved permanently to Accra and where he’s worked with countless bands and musicians. He is now the lead vocalist for the group Adasamma.

Drummer

Ebenezer Arthur is a drummer born in Takoradi on the 23rd of November 1992. He had his education till Polytechnic and dropped out after a month to pursue a full time music career. Ebenezer first had interest in the drums at the age of 5. He chased this desire when he entered Junior high school, and was encouraged by a teacher who showed him  rudiments on the drum. He then started professionally after Senior High School and was noticed by Highlife giants like Amandzeba Nat Brew, Samuel Owusu, Pat Thomas and Gyedu Blay Ambulley.  He is currently with the Adasamma group as well as other side projects.
